Requires shelter:

Place orchids in a covered or sheltered spot, such as under a roof or in a greenhouse. Clear plastic can also be used to create a makeshift shelter to protect them from heavy rain.

Provide Enough Sunlight:

Orchids need adequate sunlight to bloom- some thrive in full sun all day, while others do better in shade.

Watering:

Water your orchids early in the morning, and only when the soil is dry- typically every 1-2 weeks. Be sure not to overwater, as orchids should not be left sitting in water.

Pruning:

The first step in treating any infection is to cut the infected area with precision, using scissor-action blades immediately upon noticing it. This process allows you to remove any dead stalks back to the roots.

Spray the nearby affected plants:

To prevent the spread of infection, spray a good bactericide or fungicide on the affected orchid plant as well as all nearby plants.

Bleach Solution:

After pruning, disinfect the entire growing area with a 10% bleach solution, but be gentle with tissue-paper-quality orchids.

Avoid planting outdoors in rain:

Excess moisture encourages fungal growth, so avoid keeping your orchid outdoors during rainstorms.

Avoid keeping them in direct rain:

To prevent them from being hit by rain directly, it is important to place them in a sheltered place.

Rain Protection:

Too much moisture will encourage fungal growth, so do not keep your orchid outdoors during a rainstorm.
