The story is going to resume when Dune: Part Two is released on March 1.

It's Denis Villeneuve's bold take on Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi series.

If you haven't seen the first installment, keep reading to catch up.

When the movie opens, Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac) has been granted power over the planet Arrakis' spice mines.

Arrakis is vital to the Imperium, the galactic ruling entity, because it is the only supply of spice.

Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) is Leto's spouse and a Bene Gesserit member.

Their son Paul (Timothée Chalamet) bears the burden of being the sole heir and maybe the promised messiah.

Meanwhile, Baron Vladimir Harkonnen swears vengeance on House Atreides for taking Arrakis from him.

The Fremen, who are Arrakis' native inhabitants, reside in underground settlements known as sietches.

The sequel opens with Fremen tribe chief Stilgar escorting Paul and Jessica to a town called Sietch Tabr.
