Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Here's A List Of Top 10 Candidates With Highest Criminal Cases

According to an ADR report, about 20% of candidates in the Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha elections' fifth phase have criminal cases against them.

Among the 144 candidates analysed, 37% are crorepatis. The report covered constituencies like Lucknow, Rae Bareli, and Amethi.

The report, released by Uttar Pradesh Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms, revealed that 29 candidates have criminal cases against them.

Parties such as BSP, BJP, SP, Congress, and Apna Dal have candidates with criminal records.

BSP leads with 36% of its candidates having criminal cases, followed by SP with 40%. Serious criminal charges are declared by 18% of the candidates, with Congress having 75% of its candidates under such scrutiny.

10. Alok Misra: Contesting for INC from UP's Kanpur constituency, has 5 total cases, including 13 serious IPC charges and 11 other IPC charges.

9. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy: A BJP candidate from Odisha's Berhampur seat, faces 9 total cases, with 15 serious IPC charges and 18 other IPC charges.

8. Eatala Rajender: Representing BJP in Telangana's Malkajgiri constituency, has 45 total cases, including 15 serious IPC charges and 62 other IPC charges.

7. Arvind Dharmapuri: A BJP candidate from Telangana's Nizamabad seat, faces 22 total cases, with 18 serious IPC charges and 30 other IPC charges.

6. Neelam Madhu: Contesting for INC from Telangana's Medak constituency, has 14 total cases, including 20 serious IPC charges and 44 other IPC charges.

5. Subbarao Challa: An independent candidate from Andhra's Narsaraopet seat, has 16 total cases, including 21 serious IPC charges and 48 other IPC charges.

4. Venumbaka Vijayasai Reddy: Representing YSRCP in Andhra's Nellore seat, faces 22 total cases, with 26 serious IPC charges and 19 other IPC charges.

3. Bandi Sanjay Kumar: BJP candidate from Telangana's Karimnagar seat, has 42 total cases, including 30 serious IPC charges and 108 other IPC charges.

2. Athram Suguna of Telangana: Contesting from the Adilabad (ST) constituency for INC, has 49 total cases, with 41 serious IPC charges and 197 other IPC charges.

1. Dilip Ghosh from West Bengal's Burdwan-Durgapur constituency: Representing BJP, faces 27 total cases, including 61 serious IPC charges and 153 other IPC charges.
