Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu offered to resign from his post as Congress faces a threatened rebellion in the state following RS poll results.

The development comes after the state minister, and son of former Himchal CM Virbhadra Singh, Vikramaditya Singh resigned from his post.

Citing resons for his move, Singh said the party MLAs' views 'were ignored'.

The political drama in the hill state deepened after 15 BJP MLAs were expelled by the assembly speaker.

The development came after BJP's mulled a floor test when the ruling Congress lost the lone RS seat in the hill state.

In an upset for the ruling Congress in the hilly state, the BJP emerged victorious on Tuesday. BJP's Harsh Mahajan defeated Congress's Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

The victory of the BJP candidate, with the support of six Congress lawmakers and three independents previously backing the government has fuelled the recent developments.

According to reports, the six MLAs had left Shimla for Haryana after casting their votes in the Rajya Sabha polls.

On Wednesday, the MLAs, rumoured to be in touch with the centre-ruling party, were being brought back to the state capital by chopper.
