Chamkila worked several odd jobs until he found his calling as a singer, song writer & composer

Chamkila worked with legends like Surinder Shinda, K Deep, Mohammad Sadiq but went solo to get his due

As an indie artist, he was booked for 366 shows for 365 days of the year

He also performed open-air acts and concerts in rural areas for free, otherwise charging Rs. 4k per concert

In collaboration with Amarjot Kaur, Chamkila sang some of his biggest hits 'Pehli Lalkar' & many

Chamkila & Amarjot sang during the 80s insurgency in Punjabi on drug addiction, extra marital affairs, violence & more

Chamkila & Amarjot were killed in broad daylight by armed motorcyclists in Mehsampur before a concert
