Bangladeshi national Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad was arrested for attacking Saif during a burglary attempt.
The actor suffered six stab wounds, underwent a five-hour surgery, and had a knife piece removed from his body.
Saif was admitted to Lilavati Hospital at 3 AM on Thursday and later shifted to the ICU.
Following the attack, new CCTV cameras were installed at his Bandra home.
Security personnel were seen ensuring safety at his residence post-attack.
