Actress Aparna Balamurali won the 68th National Award for her film 'Soorarai Pottru'. She played Suriya's wife in the film.

Apart from being a wonderful actress, Aparna is a playback singer also.

Aparna started her career at the age of 18 and has worked in films like 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram' (2016), 'Sunday Holiday' (2017).

While recalling her experience of working in Soorarai Pottru, the actress had said that she had to unlearn few things.

Aparna made her debut in the Malayalam film Yathra Thudarunnu (2013) along with Lakshmi Gopalaswamy.

She rose to fame with the 2016 Malayalam film ‘Maheshinte Prathikaaram’ opposite Fahadh Faasil.

Aparna was last seen in ‘Veetla Vishesham’, a Tamil remake of ‘Badhaai Ho’. She reprised the role of Sanya Malhotra in the film.

She has also won many regional awards for ‘Soorarai Pottru’ including South Indian International Movie Awards.

As a singer, she has given songs like Mounangal Mindumoree, Thennal Nilavinte, and Thanthane.
