State Alert: Four Killed, Eleven Injured in High-Speed Bus Crash on NH-31 in Bihar's Bhagalpur

A devastating road accident on National Highway 31 in Bhagalpur, Bihar, claimed four lives and left at least eleven others injured on Tuesday. The collision occurred near Dayalpur when a speeding bus travelling from Bhagalpur towards Saharsa rammed into an e-rickshaw and a pickup van coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that the e-rickshaw was completely mangled. Among the deceased are a woman and a six-year-old child, who died on the spot. Several injured passengers have been referred to hospitals in Bhagalpur, with some reported to be in critical condition. Preliminary investigation suggests that overspeeding by the private bus led to the tragic head-on collision. Police from Jhanda Pur police station and senior district officials, including traffic authorities, rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information. Authorities are working to identify all victims and notify their families. The incident has once again raised serious concerns over reckless driving and highway safety standards on busy stretches like NH-31. A detailed probe has been initiated to determine accountability and prevent such tragedies in the future.
