Pakistan–Afghanistan Tensions: Pakistan Conducts Airstrikes in Afghanistan as Border Tensions Escalate

Pakistan has reportedly carried out a fresh round of airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan, further escalating tensions between the two neighbouring countries. According to reports, the strikes targeted areas in the provinces of Kunar, Khost, and Paktika. Afghan authorities have claimed that at least 13 people were killed in the attacks, including 11 children, raising serious humanitarian concerns over the cross-border military operation. The latest strikes come amid recurring friction over security along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border. Pakistani officials have previously alleged that militant groups operating from Afghan territory have been responsible for attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting military action against suspected hideouts across the border.
