Middle East Conflict: Iran Escalates Gulf Tensions, Claims Large-Scale Strikes Across Region Amid US Denials

Tensions in the Gulf region have sharply escalated amid reports of coordinated military actions attributed to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to Iranian state-linked claims, Iran launched simultaneous strikes targeting areas in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq, triggering widespread disruption across the region. The situation reportedly led to heightened security alerts, temporary airspace closures, and suspension of commercial flights in parts of the Gulf. Bahrain is said to have closed its airspace following the reported threats, while Kuwait also activated emergency measures amid concerns over regional stability. Aviation disruptions were additionally reported in the United Arab Emirates, where several flights were temporarily suspended as a precaution. The United States military, through Central Command (CENTCOM) and the Pentagon, has stated that Iranian missile and drone attacks were intercepted and largely neutralized. However, Iranian sources claim the strikes were in retaliation for earlier US actions, including reported attacks near Qeshm Island and maritime tensions involving Iranian assets.
