Iran: Iran Releases Video of Mustafa Khamenei Amid Death and Health Rumours

Amid rumours surrounding the death and deteriorating health of Mustafa Khamenei, Iranian state-linked media has released a new video claiming to show him in good health. Iran’s Mehr News Agency published the 12-second footage in an apparent attempt to dismiss reports about his condition. However, the video has raised fresh questions rather than ending the speculation. The footage does not include a visible date or location, and Khamenei’s full face is reportedly not clearly visible. He can be seen sitting alongside around 10 other people. Israeli media had previously claimed that Khamenei was in critical condition after being injured in an alleged US-Israeli attack. Iranian authorities appear to be using the newly released footage to counter those claims and demonstrate that he is alive and well. Despite the video, uncertainty remains because there is no clear timestamp, location information or independent verification accompanying the footage. The lack of additional details has therefore kept questions about his health alive, even as Iranian media seeks to reject reports of his death or serious illness.
