Mumbaikars woke up waterlogged streets on Tuesday following heavy overnight rain across several parts of the city. As per the India Meteorological Department, the monsoon has started shifting downwards, due to which several western and southern states are likely to receive heavy rainfall. 'Red alert' was issued for several areas in Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, and Karnataka for Monday.
Showers also lashed Delhi and the national capital region, bringing much-needed relief from the sweltering heat.
