According to the updated guidelines, the site of the encounter will undergo comprehensive videography to ensure that all aspects of the incident are documented accurately. This step is intended to provide a clear visual record of the events surrounding the encounter, helping to prevent any potential discrepancies or misrepresentations. Furthermore, the government has mandated that a panel of two doctors will be responsible for conducting the post-mortem examinations of the deceased individuals involved in the encounter. This panel approach is designed to ensure that the autopsy is performed with the utmost professionalism and objectivity. Notably, the post-mortem procedure will also be subject to videography, adding another layer of oversight to the investigation process. To further bolster the integrity of the investigation, the crime scene will be examined by police officers from a different police station, ensuring that the inquiry is conducted without any potential biases. Additionally, the investigation into the encounter will be overseen by a senior officer of a higher rank than those directly involved in the operation. These measures have been communicated to all Superintendents of Police (SPs) by the Director General of Police (DGP) to ensure strict adherence to the new protocols. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to maintaining law and order while ensuring that encounters are conducted in a fair and accountable manner.
