The report reveals that women hold only one-fifth of the total bank deposits, despite owning every third bank account. As of March 2023, out of 252 crore individual accounts, 36.4% or 91 crore were held by women. This data includes accounts from Hindu Undivided Families, resident individuals, farmers, traders, professionals, self-employed persons, and wage and salaried employees.
