View In AppIn West Bengal, Sealdah bound Kanchenjunga Express collided with a goods train near New Jalpaiguri on Monday morning. At least 15 people are reported to have died in this accident, while more than 60 people were seriously injured. At the time of the accident, Kanchenjunga Express was going from Agartala to Sealdah. It is being told that the collision between the Kanchenjunga Express and the goods train occurred because the locopilot of the goods train jumped the signal and collided with the standing Kanchenjunga Express. This accident has once again raised the question as to how two trains came to be on the same track. Railway officials claim that they have new technology and all the arrangements to stop the movement of two trains on the same track, but this accident has deflated these claims.
