SOUTH POLITICAL ALERT: Fresh Twist in Tamil Nadu as TVK Claims AMMK Support for Vijay Govt

Political suspense over government formation in Tamil Nadu continues to intensify as the party led by Vijay claimed fresh support from the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK). Vijay’s party, TVK, shared a video on social media allegedly showing AMMK MLA Kamaraj signing a support letter in favor of the proposed government. The development comes at a crucial time when TVK is trying to secure the numbers needed to form the government in the state Assembly. According to reports, TVK has already submitted letters of support from 116 MLAs, while the majority mark stands at 117. In such a tight numbers game, even the support of a single MLA has become politically significant. However, the claim by TVK has now sparked controversy after AMMK chief T. T. V. Dhinakaran publicly denied issuing any official support letter to Vijay’s party. Dhinakaran accused TVK of spreading misleading information and clarified that no formal decision regarding support had been communicated by his party. The conflicting claims have added another layer of uncertainty to Tamil Nadu’s rapidly evolving political situation. While TVK supporters see the viral video as proof of growing backing for Vijay’s leadership, opposition parties are questioning the legitimacy of the support being projected. Political observers say the Governor is likely to wait for clear and officially verified letters of support before taking any decision on inviting a party to form the government or finalizing the swearing-in ceremony. With coalition talks continuing behind the scenes, every MLA now holds crucial importance in Tamil Nadu’s high-stakes political battle, and all eyes remain on whether Vijay can ultimately secure the final numbers required to become Chief Minister.
