Several dead bodies found floating in Ganga due to crematoriums running out of space

All the bodies recovered from the Ganga river in Ghazipur and Ballia districts were cremated and investigations have been initiated to find out where the bodies had been immersed in the river.

On Monday, around 45 dead bodies in a decomposed stage were found on the banks of the Ganga in Buxar district, and the district administration claimed the bodies were from the upstream districts of Ghazipur, Varanasi or Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

During inspection, seven bodies were spotted in river Karmnasha before its confluence in Ganga on Ghazipur-Buxar border.
