During his visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large public gathering, emphasizing India’s firm stance on terrorism and its progress toward self-reliance in defense manufacturing. Referring to recent counter-terrorism operations, including Operation Sindoor, PM Modi strongly criticized political opponents who, he said, had previously withdrawn cases against terrorists and are now questioning security operations. PM Modi proudly highlighted the development of indigenous weapons like the BrahMos missile, which will soon be manufactured in Uttar Pradesh under the Defense Corridor initiative. “If Pakistan dares another misadventure, missiles made in UP will answer,” he declared. The Prime Minister also spoke of India’s cultural continuity, referencing his recent visit to the thousand-year-old Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple in Tamil Nadu. He connected it with his symbolic gesture of taking Ganga Jal from the north to the south—echoing King Rajendra Chola’s unity efforts 1,000 years ago. He lauded Uttar Pradesh’s rapid industrial growth and investments, and announced new development projects in Varanasi—ranging from bridges to educational infrastructure and heritage preservation, including the beautification of Maa Kalka Dham and support for local artisans.
