Pakistani Hindus came for religious visit, want to settle in India now
The arrival of Hindus from Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border has increased abnormally since the Citizenship (Amendment) Act was passed by Parliament on December 11, 2019. The Act envisages giving Indian nationality to members of the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities who have come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan till December 31, 2014, due to religious persecution in these countries.
