Pahalgam Attack fallout: Terror crackdown widens as India plans to choke Pakistan’s water supply

Following the recent terror attempt on tourists in Pahalgam, Indian security forces have intensified their crackdown on militancy in Jammu and Kashmir. In South Kashmir's Kulgam district, homes of two more terrorists—Shahid Ahmed and Zakir Ahmed—have been demolished, bringing the total to five since the operation began. Police sources revealed that similar action could soon target nearly 56 active militants in the region, along with OGWs (Over Ground Workers) who support the terror ecosystem. This sweeping crackdown is part of a larger strategy to dismantle the network of militancy in the Valley.
In a parallel move, the Indian government is preparing to strike Pakistan diplomatically by choking its water supply. Discussions are underway to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, which could dry up the waters of the Sindh River flowing into Pakistan. This combination of military pressure and water politics sends a clear message that India is adopting a zero-tolerance policy against cross-border terrorism.
