NEET Paper Leak Row: IMA Writes to Education Minister Over Exam Irregularities

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has expressed strong concern over the NEET paper leak controversy and has written a letter to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The IMA stated that NEET has faced repeated controversies over the past four years, causing mental stress and uncertainty among lakhs of students. It has demanded that the exam be decentralized, states be given more responsibility, and a fair, impartial investigation be conducted into the entire paper leak network. The association also called for strict punishment for those responsible to set an example. The report comes after the Education Minister’s press conference, where he announced that NEET will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from next year. He admitted that there were lapses in the system but said corrective steps are being taken. The government has ordered a CBI investigation into the leak and is working to re-conduct the exam on 21 June. According to the report, the focus is also on improving exam logistics for students, including possible travel assistance and refund of examination fees. The authorities have reiterated their commitment to making the examination process more transparent and secure, with major reforms expected in the coming years.
