National News: PM Modi interacts with folk artists at Somnath, plays traditional instruments to boost morale

ABP News Bureau   |  11 Jan 2026 12:48 PM (IST)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen warmly interacting with folk artists at the Somnath temple complex, where he briefly tried his hand at traditional musical instruments, drawing smiles and visible excitement among the performers. Visuals showed the Prime Minister engaging with artists after the completion of religious rituals, encouraging them and appreciating their role in preserving India’s rich cultural heritage. This is not the first time PM Modi has been seen participating in such moments. Whenever he interacts with artists, he often makes a conscious effort to motivate them by engaging directly with their art forms. The folk artists, who carry regional culture, music, and dance traditions to distant corners of the country, appeared delighted by the Prime Minister’s presence and personal interaction. The cultural engagement followed an elaborate spiritual programme at Somnath, where PM Modi performed Shiva Abhishek and prayers rooted in Vedic traditions. Religious scholars highlighted that the rituals symbolised not only devotion but also the civilisational continuity of Sanatan culture, reflecting values of sacrifice, resilience, and national unity. The event also showcased India’s spiritual and cultural legacy, with saints, scholars, and akhara representatives from across the country participating. Observers noted that the programme was aimed at reconnecting people with India’s ancient traditions, historical struggles, and the deeper philosophical meaning behind rituals, art, and collective worship.
