Maharashtra: Know why Lonar Lake's water turned pink
The color of the water in the Lonar lake of Maharashtra has changed to pink overnight. Experts are assuming this happened due to salinity and the presence of algae in the reservoir. Lonar Lake is 500 km from Mumbai in Buldhana district. It is extremely popular among tourists.
Lonar Tehsildar said, "In the last 2-3 days we have witnessed a change in color of the river's water. The forest department has been asked to collect its sample and find out the reason behind the occurrence."
