Mahakumbh 2025: Vehicle Movement Restricted in Mela Area After Stampede Incident

In response to the recent mishap at Mahakumbh 2025, authorities have imposed a ban on vehicular movement within the Mela area to ensure the safety of pilgrims. The decision comes as a precautionary measure to manage the massive crowds and prevent further incidents.Despite the unfortunate event, a huge number of devotees participated in the sacred Amrit Snan on Basant Panchami at the Triveni Sangam. By 8 AM, over 62.25 lakh devotees had taken a holy dip, while the total footfall at the Kumbh so far has reached 34.97 crore.Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared visuals of the event, extending his blessings to saints, Akharas, Kalpvasis, and pilgrims. The administration has also opened all bridges to facilitate smoother movement. Meanwhile, officials are closely monitoring the situation through a dedicated war room, ensuring a safe and well-organized experience for all visitors at the world’s largest spiritual gathering.
