Prayagraj is witnessing severe traffic congestion as lakhs of devotees arrive for the Maghi Purnima holy dip at the Mahakumbh 2025. Even before the main event, the city’s infrastructure is struggling to handle the overwhelming influx of pilgrims, leading to gridlocks in multiple areas.The situation is expected to worsen on February 12, when nearly 10 lakh Kalpvasis return home, further straining the already burdened transport system. Despite administrative efforts, the arrangements have proven insufficient to manage the massive crowd.Traffic jams have also been reported in nearby districts such as Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Ayodhya, raising concerns over the effectiveness of the government’s preparations.
