Inflation: ₹29 Hike in Domestic LPG Prices Increases Household Budget Pressure

The government has increased the price of domestic LPG cylinders by ₹29, adding to the financial burden on households already dealing with rising inflation. In Delhi, the cost of a 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder has increased from ₹913 to ₹942. This is the second price hike in three months, following a ₹60 increase on March 7. The revision has been linked to disruptions in global energy supplies caused by the ongoing conflict in West Asia, which has driven up international fuel prices. Along with higher costs for milk, petrol, diesel, and CNG, the LPG price hike is expected to further strain family budgets. Many homemakers expressed concern that the increase will force them to reduce spending on other essential items to manage household expenses. Some said they may have to cut back on groceries or other necessities to cope with rising costs. The latest hike has sparked concerns over affordability as inflation continues to affect everyday living expenses across India.
