On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will hear the petition of the managers of the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, challenging the survey of the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri complex. A Varanasi court on Monday ordered the district administration to seal the survey area inside the compound where the surveying crew purportedly discovered a 'shivling.' A bench of Justices D Y Chandrachud and P S Narasimha will hear the case of the Committee of Management Anjuman Intezamia Masjid, which oversees the operations of the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi, according to the Supreme Court's amended list of business for Tuesday.
