Ghaziabad Crime: ₹50,000 Rewarded Kidnap-Murder Accused Gaurav Shot in Encounter

The accused, identified as Gaurav, was allegedly involved in a kidnapping and murder case that had been under investigation for several months. According to police officials, a routine checking operation was being conducted near the underpass when officers noticed a motorcycle rider approaching at high speed. The suspect was signaled to stop, but instead attempted to escape by suddenly turning his motorcycle. During the attempt to flee, the bike reportedly lost balance and skidded on the road. Police stated that when officers moved in to apprehend him, the accused allegedly opened fire on the police team with the intention of causing harm. In response, officers carried out retaliatory firing in self-defense. Gaurav sustained bullet injuries to both legs during the exchange and was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. Investigators revealed that the accused was wanted in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a man named Omkar. During preliminary questioning, Gaurav reportedly admitted that he and his associates had abducted the victim before allegedly killing him and disposing of the body along Meerut Road in an attempt to conceal the crime.
