As the temperature reaches around 50 degrees Celsius in Delhi, a water crisis has deepened amid the scorching heat. This picture of Okhla Feeder-1 in the capital shows people gathered around the tankers, with hundreds carrying utensils to get drinking water. From wherever they could find an opportunity, people inserted pipes into the tankers to access water. There are many areas in Delhi where drinking water is supplied only by these tankers.

On October 28, Delhi’s Water Minister, Atishi, accused Haryana of not releasing the national capital's share of water. She stated that Haryana has not released Delhi’s share of water since May 1, and she warned of upcoming measures that the government might take, such as rationalising the water supply in the national capital.
