Nagpur police have taken strong action following the recent violence in the city, with 47 rioters arrested so far. According to Maharashtra’s Home Minister, Yogesh Kadam, an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the unrest, but the exact reason for the violence remains unclear. The police had reportedly intervened earlier during a tense protest that escalated between two communities, which was resolved. However, violence reignited later that night, lasting for over two and a half hours in Nagpur’s Mahal area. Though the reasons for the escalation are still under investigation, Kadam confirmed that the police are thoroughly probing the incident. The rioters, many from outside the area, were involved in arson, stone-pelting, and vandalism. Fortunately, there were only minor injuries, but authorities are committed to uncovering the truth behind the violence. The police have vowed to take strict action against those responsible for the unrest.
