Breaking News: Nagpur Violence Linked to Bangladesh in Cyber Investigation | ABP NEWS
A significant development has emerged in the investigation of the recent violence in Nagpur, revealing a Bangladesh connection. The city's Cyber Cell uncovered that a Facebook account operated from Bangladesh played a key role in inciting the unrest. This account issued threats to escalate the violence, which led to widespread destruction in Nagpur, including vehicles being set on fire and property vandalized. In response to the violence, the Nagpur police have been actively arresting suspects and expanding their investigation. Authorities identified 97 posts spreading false and inflammatory information, which contributed to the unrest. Four new FIRs have been filed, specifically targeting the spread of fake news and misinformation on social media that fueled the violence. The police have set up 18 special teams and are working with the Cyber Cell to track down the culprits. So far, 200 individuals have been identified, with 100 suspects under further investigation. The posts linked to the violence were traced to IP addresses originating from Bangladesh, pointing to the involvement of external forces in destabilizing the situation. As the investigation continues, Nagpur remains under scrutiny, with authorities focused on identifying and neutralizing the external elements that triggered the violence, while working to restore peace in the city.
