Breaking News: Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorist Abu Qatal Killed in Pakistan by Unknown Assailants | ABP NEWS
Abu Qatal, a most-wanted terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba, was killed on Saturday night in Jehlum, Pakistan, by unidentified attackers. Qatal, a close associate of Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, was responsible for planning several terrorist activities, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. He played a major role in orchestrating attacks, including the notorious assault on a pilgrimage bus in Jammu and Kashmir that resulted in multiple casualties. Abu Qatal had been on India's most-wanted list for years and was considered a key figure in Lashkar-e-Taiba’s operations. His name was included in the charge sheet for various terrorist activities, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had been intensively pursuing him. Qatal was last seen with Hafiz Saeed and had gone underground since 2023 after the Rajouri attack, prompting an increased effort by the NIA to locate him. Reports suggest that unknown assailants ambushed and shot him dead, also killing his driver in the process. This development is seen as a significant blow to Lashkar-e-Taiba's operations, as Qatal was instrumental in planning and executing numerous attacks targeting Indian soil. His death is viewed as a crucial victory in counterterrorism efforts.
