Breaking News: CNG Price Hike Hits Delhi, Mumbai Wholesale Milk Prices to Rise by ₹9 From September

Inflation is delivering another blow to consumers as rising energy costs and higher international gas prices begin to affect household and transport expenses. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of CNG in Delhi by nearly ₹4 per kilogram, with the revised rate coming into effect from 6:00 AM today. Following the hike, CNG in Delhi has increased from ₹83.09 to ₹86.98 per kilogram. The latest increase comes amid continuing instability in West Asia and disruption concerns surrounding LNG supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. Tightness in international gas markets has pushed prices higher, adding pressure on domestic fuel prices. The repeated CNG increases have added to the burden on commuters and vehicle owners. The report highlights several recent price revisions, showing how CNG rates have steadily moved upward over the past few months. Meanwhile, consumers in Mumbai are also facing another price shock ahead of the festive season. The Bombay Milk Producers Association has announced a ₹9 per litre increase in wholesale milk prices. The new rate will take effect from September 1 and will remain applicable for six months, until February 28, 2027. Wholesale milk prices in Mumbai and surrounding metropolitan areas are expected to rise from ₹93 to ₹100.02 per litre. The increase could also have a wider impact on dairy products, potentially raising the cost of items made using milk.
