Breaking News: Celebration Turns Deadly, Poor Planning Leads to Stampede at RCB Parade | ABP NEWS

The celebration of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's historic first IPL title turned into a tragic incident on Wednesday as a massive crowd gathered outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to welcome the team. The victory parade, which lacked proper planning and crowd management, ended in chaos with a stampede that claimed 11 lives and left 47 injured. Although 35,000 people were allowed entry into the stadium with free passes, over a million fans gathered outside, leading to severe overcrowding. Eyewitnesses reported a complete lack of guidance and poor coordination by the police and local authorities. Many people started assembling as early as 10 AM after being informed that the players would arrive at the stadium via a victory parade. In the absence of proper crowd control, fans jumped over barriers, leading to panic and ultimately a stampede. Karnataka’s Home Minister G. Parameshwara has since visited the stadium, as the state government prepares to submit a detailed report to the High Court.
