Video of IAS Pooja Khedkar's Mother Went Viral
A video allegedly showing Manorama threatening some individuals with a gun over a land dispute surfaced, leading to an FIR against Manorama, her husband Dilip Khedkar, and five others. A senior officer from Pune Rural Police, along with a team, visited Manorama's bungalow on Baner Road but could not locate her.
Legal Action to Follow
The police stated that they visited her home on Sunday and Monday but were unable to enter the premises. Her mobile phone is also switched off. Once they locate her, an investigation will be conducted and legal action will be taken.
Charges Filed Under Specific Sections
Pune Rural Police have registered a case against the Khedkar couple and five others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Paud Police Station, including section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt).
The case was registered a few days after a video went viral on social media, showing Manorama with her security guards, armed with a pistol, engaging in a heated argument with some individuals in Dhadhawali village, Mulshi tehsil, Pune.
Statement from Pooja Khedkar's Father
Defending IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, accused of using a fake disability and Other Backward Class (OBC) certificate to pass the civil service exam, her father stated on Sunday that she has done nothing illegal. Pooja recently made headlines for allegedly demanding a separate 'cabin' and 'staff' during her posting in Pune, which led to her sudden transfer to Washim district.
