A deeply emotional atmosphere was witnessed at KGMU postmortem house after the death of Prateek Yadav, where Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav arrived early in the morning and spent nearly 40 minutes inside the facility. During this time, he interacted with officials and gathered information before stepping out to address the media, visibly shaken by the loss. Speaking emotionally, Akhilesh Yadav said he had known Prateek since childhood and described him as a young, energetic individual deeply focused on fitness and personal growth. He expressed grief over the untimely demise, stating that Prateek was ambitious and wanted to achieve success through hard work. He also emphasized that the family is in deep sorrow and will follow all legal procedures as required, while indicating that a formal investigation or postmortem findings will provide clarity on the cause of death. Following the postmortem, which was conducted under the supervision of a CMO-led panel of doctors and included CCTV videography and forensic procedures, the mortal remains are expected to be moved to the family residence at Vikramaditya Marg. Sources confirm that the postmortem process has been completed, and viscera samples have been preserved for further analysis. Meanwhile, preparations at the residence have intensified. Tents, chairs, and arrangements for last rites have already been set up, and people close to the family, supporters, and relatives are gathering in large numbers. Police security has been deployed as the atmosphere remains tense and emotional. At the same time, uncertainty continues over the arrival of Aparna Yadav, with conflicting reports suggesting she is currently traveling from outside locations and expected to reach Lucknow around 2 PM. Family associates have confirmed that the final transfer of the body will take place only after her arrival. The postmortem report is expected to provide crucial details, with preliminary inputs likely later in the day and the full report within 24 hours, as authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of death.
