Big Breaking: Supreme Court Restricts Media Talk in Twisha Sharma Case Hearing
The Supreme Court has begun hearing the Twisha Sharma death case, which has now reached a decisive stage with proceedings across three judicial levels: the Supreme Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court, and a district court in Bhopal. The apex court, which had taken suo motu cognizance, emphasized that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is capable of conducting a fair probe and must be allowed to work without interference. It also directed both parties—victim’s family and accused side—to avoid media statements and refrain from influencing the investigation through public narratives. During the hearing, the Court stressed that media trial should be avoided and all evidence must be presented only before the investigating agency. It also noted that allegations of biased investigation had emerged through media reports, which led to judicial intervention. The Court recorded that a second autopsy was conducted by AIIMS doctors, fulfilling earlier demands of the family. Meanwhile, related hearings on bail and evidence preservation are also underway in lower courts, marking a crucial phase in the case.
