Ten states and 1 Union Territory have so far reported cases of mucormycosis, also known as black fungus. In the current situation where Covid cases are increasing on the one hand, in this situation, mucormycosis is becoming a cause for concern. States and Union Territories have been assured that the Ministry of Health will provide all necessary support to implement the Health National Guideline for Infection Prevention and Control in Healthcare Facilities.
