India Vision 2047: CR Patil Highlights Modi Government’s Roadmap for Water Management

At the ABP Network India@2047 Conclave, C. R. Patil outlined the Indian government's strategy to address water scarcity, improve water management, and expand access to clean drinking water. He highlighted the success of the “Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari” campaign, launched under the guidance of Narendra Modi, stating that a record 15.5 million water conservation structures have been built across the country to strengthen water storage and groundwater recharge. Patil also emphasized the achievements of the Jal Jeevan Mission, claiming that piped drinking water has already reached around 160 million households. He said the remaining 30 million households would receive water connections before the 2028 deadline, potentially ahead of schedule. Discussing river management, the minister spoke about ongoing river-linking projects aimed at improving water distribution and reducing regional shortages. He also highlighted efforts to clean major rivers such as the Ganga River and the Yamuna River, including the use of AI-powered boats for monitoring and cleaning operations. Patil further addressed India's strategy to prevent wastage of water flowing toward Pakistan and discussed future challenges in water governance. The interview focused on sustainable water management, technological innovation, and the government's long-term vision for ensuring water security across India.
