ABP News Bureau   |  05 Jan 2025 01:23 PM (IST)

During winters, markets are filled with a variety of green leafy vegetables that help keep the body warm. Several vegetables are consumed in the cold season for their warming properties. Some of the best vegetables for winter are root vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, onions, garlic, radishes, sweet potatoes, beets, turnips, and yams. Additionally, leafy greens like spinach, fenugreek, mustard greens, radish greens, and mint are popular for their warming qualities. Kale, available year-round, is best consumed in its local, seasonal form, from October to March, for maximum nutrients. Collard greens, rich in vitamins A and K, and calcium, are most available from January to March. These seasonal vegetables provide essential nutrients and are an excellent choice for staying healthy and warm during the winter months.
