Ghanti Bajao: UP's 40 year old 'Saryu Canal project' not able to provide water for farmers

The Saryu canal project was conceived in 1971 with estimated cost of Rs 175 crore has now escalated to Rs 10,000 core. The government will complete this project and a provision of Rs 1,614 crore has been made in the budget. As many as eight canal projects in Bundelkhand are on the priority of the government including kanhar and Baan sagar canal project while for flood protection and drainage a provision of Rs 1,004 has been made in the budget’, said the chief minister.
