People continue to operate under the old tax regime, says Nitin Baijal

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had introduced a new tax regime in the year 2020. It was optional in nature and was not imposed on the citizens. The benefits of the new tax regime are dependent on deductions. Government has to make this more lucrative so that people can easily switch as the majority of people have continued to operate under the old tax regime.
