Union Budget 2024: INDIA Alliance to Protest Against Budget Today | ABP News

Nirmala Sitharaman: On Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget. Following Narendra Modi's third consecutive term, expectations were high. The budget aims to benefit all segments, including the poor, middle class, and affluent. Key highlights include increased standard deductions and expanded benefits for new tax regime taxpayers, though some disappointment exists over higher short-term and long-term capital gains taxes and the removal of indexation benefits. 

The budget also targets job creation, skill development, and support for small businesses, with incentives for training companies and increased loans for higher education and small enterprises. Additionally, the budget includes reduced corporate taxes for foreign firms and cheaper cancer drugs, mobile phones, and precious metals. The INDIA Alliance has criticized the budget as discriminatory and will protest in Parliament, accusing the central government of neglecting states' rights and favoring some regions over others.
