In Maharashtra, the main parties in the fray are the BJP, Shiv Sena, the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Assembly Elections in the state is said to be a close battle of two alliances: BJP-Shiv Sena on one hand, and the Congress-NCP on the other.
The recently conducted Assembly Elections witnessed a slump in voter turnout compared to 2014 elections with estimated turnout in Maharashtra stood at 58 per cent and in Haryana 64 per cent.
