Driver ‘Ejects’ Himself Out Of Car After It Slips On Snow Near Atal Tunnel – WATCH

A man's quick thinking helped him escape from his car which had lost control due to the snow near the Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh. The Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh, which is the world’s highest highway single-tube tunnel situated above 10,000 feet.

In the video posted on Instagram, a Mahindra Thar can be slipping out of control and going around in circles when the driver decides it would be best to jump out of the vehicle. He tosses himself out, while his car continues to slide ahead and lands dangerously close to the front wheel.
His vehicle did not slide too far, and slowed down towards the mountainous side and not the railing.
The video which garnered over 15 million views, and 3800 comments, has netizens shocked by the incident.
One user commented, “Applying the breaks make the situation worse… turn the steering in the direction of the slide, give it the slightest acceleration and you will reagin traction. It is very important at this time to gently turn the steering wheel slowly and aim where you want to go without using the brakes. Always enter the obstacle in a lower gear in this case.”

In 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Atal Tunnel, which cuts the distance between Manali and Leh by 46 kilometres. This has helped overcome the six-month isolation in the region, caused due to heavy snowfall. Now Manali is connected to the Lahaul-Spiti valley throughout the entire year.
Since the snowfall in Himachal, several videos have emerged online of vehicles on the roads, similar such incident took place near Solang Valley in Manali. In the video, several vehicles are stuck on a snow-covered road, with tourists trying to prevent cars from slipping uncontrollably. One vehicle can be seen on the edge of the gorge.
