Gwalior Man Fined Rs 5,500 After Girlfriend Covers Car in 3,400 Lipstick Marks

A social media stunt to express love proved costly for a Gwalior man after his girlfriend covered his car with 3,400 lipstick marks, prompting police to fine him Rs 5,500 and order him to remove the marks.

The car had been seen on the city’s streets for two days before a video of it went viral on social media.

Traffic Police Inspector Abhishek Raghuvanshi said the vehicle was fined for being modified in violation of the rules.

“Two days ago, a video went viral on social media showing a car with lipstick-like marks on its body moving through the City Centre area,” Raghuvanshi told reporters on Monday, PTI reported.

During the investigation, police traced the car to the Thatipur area. The driver was taken to the police station, where a fine of Rs 5,500 was imposed under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Police also directed the man to clean the vehicle and remove all the lipstick marks.

Girlfriend Spent 3.5 Hours Decorating Car

Car owner Aditya Sikarwar told reporters that his girlfriend had decided to decorate the vehicle in this manner after being inspired by a trend from abroad.

She spent around three and a half hours creating 3,400 lipstick marks across the car before uploading a video of it on social media, he said.

Sikarwar said he was unaware that the act was illegal. Following the police action, he cleaned the entire car and paid the Rs 5,500 fine.

He added that people should avoid doing anything that violates the law.

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke reacted to the post, quipping, “Should’ve put up a Ram Rahim sticker instead.”

Tehseen Poonawala questioned the police action, calling the car owner “an attention-seeking dude” but asking how the act was illegal. He accused the Gwalior Police of “moral policing” and “going overboard” by issuing a challan.

Author Neelesh Mishra also questioned the legal basis for the fine, saying the car was not being driven recklessly and that the lipstick marks did not amount to a full-body colour change, which would be prohibited under Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

Mishra described the police action as an overreach of authority and urged officials to “have a heart” and “lighten up”.

‘No One Should Make Such Remarks’

Tinkle’s father said the family learnt about the video’s reach several days after it was recorded, when calls and interview requests began pouring in.

“Whether it involves a child or an adult, no one should make such remarks. It is a good thing that my daughter raised her voice,” he said.

He added that the family hoped people across India would understand the issue and the hurt his daughter experienced.

“If an incursion is taking place, it is deeply saddening, because we certainly don't want to go to China; we want to remain right here in India,” he said.

How Video Came About

Tinkle’s mother, Aiyum Karde, said the incident began when her daughter asked for money to buy ice cream.

She took Tinkle out to buy it, and they spoke in Hindi. After returning, Tinkle told her friends about the ice cream.

Karde said someone subsequently commented, “Why is this Chinese child speaking Hindi? Do Chinese children know how to speak Hindi?”

“I told Tinkle, ‘Look, someone is calling you Chinese. They are asking if you are Chinese or Indian.’ She replied, ‘No, I am Indian. I am Indian. My dad is Indian too, and so am I,’” Karde said.

A six-year-old boy died after collapsing at a private school in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam on Thursday, with his family alleging that he was beaten by a teacher for not completing his homework, according to an NDTV report.

The child, identified as Pranay Teja, was a student of Little Garden School in the city's One Town area. His family alleged that he collapsed after a teacher hit him with a stick. He was taken to King George Hospital (KGH), where doctors declared him dead.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials said the exact cause of death will be established only after the post-mortem examination.

Family Alleges Teacher Hit Child With Stick

According to Pranay's family, the boy was healthy when he left home on Thursday morning. His father said Pranay had insisted on going to school despite the family initially asking him to stay home.

"He woke up around 8 am and said he wanted to go to school. Since exams were coming up, we allowed him to go," the father said, as quoted by NDTV.

The family said they received a phone call around noon informing them that something had happened to the child. The father alleged that the call did not come from the school but from local cooks working near a relative's place.

"No one from the school informed me. We came to know through others," he alleged.

The father further claimed that the family was shown CCTV footage after reaching the school. According to him, the footage allegedly showed a teacher hitting Pranay with a stick, following which the child collapsed immediately.

He also rejected suggestions that the boy had any pre-existing health issues.

"He was playing happily the previous night and was perfectly fine in the morning. He had no fever or any other medical problem," the father said.

CCTV Footage Under Verification

CCTV footage reportedly shows a teacher striking the child before he suddenly collapses into her lap. However, authorities have not yet officially confirmed the authenticity of the footage.

The family also alleged that physical punishment was common at the school and claimed that other students had also been beaten. They demanded strict legal action if the allegations are proven.

The incident triggered protests at KGH, where family members and relatives gathered demanding strict action against those responsible.

Three-Member Panel Formed

Revenue Divisional Officer Dilip Chakravarthy visited KGH after learning about the incident and said officials were collecting details about the case.

The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department described the incident as "extremely unfortunate and painful" and said the government was treating the matter seriously.

A preliminary inquiry has already been conducted. Following this, a three-member committee comprising the Visakhapatnam Regional Joint Director (RJD), District Education Officer (DEO) and Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) was formed to investigate the incident.

The department also said sensitisation programmes would be organised for teachers to ensure students are treated with care, responsibility and humanity. It added that further action would be taken based on the committee's findings.

Meanwhile, police said the investigation was underway and that the post-mortem report would play a key role in determining the exact cause of the child's death.

Robot Reportedly Reaches 45.6 Kmph

The reported top speed of the humanoid translates to approximately 45.6 kmph. That figure is higher than Usain Bolt’s peak speed of around 12.42 metres per second, recorded during his 100-metre world record run in 2009.

The robot’s claimed jumping ability is also notable. Its reported standing vertical jump of 2 metres is above the human record of around 1.8 metres.

Gonda: A private school in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district has been sealed by the Basic Education Department after a video allegedly showing Hindu girl students wearing burqa and dancing during an Independence Day programme surfaced on social media, officials said on Wednesday.

The school, situated in Ausani Buzurg in the Babhanjot area, was subsequently inspected by education officials. During the inspection, authorities found that the institution was operating without recognition.

Officials Seal School Premises After Inspection

However, according to the officer, the management continued operating the institution despite the direction.

Ahmed said the inspection findings and details of the action taken were submitted to the district basic education officer in a report.

Once contact is established, fraudsters may claim that a person's account has been compromised, that a technical issue requires immediate attention or that a refund is pending.

Anand Mahindra Reacts To Smriti Irani’s Motherhood Speech

Moved by Irani’s words, Anand Mahindra admitted that her take on motherhood made him emotional.

“It’s not just some women in that room, you made many men teary-eyed. Smriti Irani, including me. The pain & pleasure of being a mother. So powerfully & emotionally articulated,” he wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

However, Mahindra said he had one point of “dissonance” with her remarks. He recalled his relationship with his own mother and said he had cared for and remained grateful to her until her final days.

Towards the end, he added, “Your son will be no different, I’m sure.”
