Kaplan conveyed the apology during a meeting with Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, saying, "I apologised to the minister on behalf of Meta for the error restricting PM Modi's post." The company maintained that the temporary restriction on the prime minister's post last month resulted from an operational error, reported News 18.

The meeting followed the Centre's decision to summon Meta's senior global executives to explain the temporary removal of PM Modi's Facebook post on July 23, in which he addressed students amid nationwide protests over examination paper leaks.

Centre Seeks Explanation Over Moderation Process

A 4,000-kg (4-tonne) rocket fragment from Elon Musk's company, SpaceX, has crashed into the Moon after drifting uncontrollably in space for the past 18 months.

According to the information available, the impact was not planned. The rocket debris had been floating aimlessly before being pulled towards the Moon by its gravitational force, eventually striking the lunar surface at extremely high speed.

Impact At Nearly 8,700 kmph

The rocket fragment hit the Moon at an estimated speed of 8,690 kilometres per hour.

According to the information provided, the force of the collision was comparable to the explosion of a 3,000-kilogram bomb.

Scientists believe the impact caused the lunar surface to shake and created a crater measuring around 20 to 30 metres across, with a depth comparable to an eight to 10-storey building.

The collision also ejected a large quantity of lunar soil and dust several kilometres above the impact site.

Why The Crash Wasn't Visible From Earth

The impact took place at around 12:05 pm IST.

Scientists had predicted that a faint flash might be visible through telescopes. However, because the impact occurred on the sunlit side of the Moon, it could not be seen with the naked eye from Earth.

According to the information available, the dust plume generated by the collision could be observed for a brief period using large and powerful telescopes.

Why Scientists Are Interested

While the incident highlights the risks associated with abandoned space debris, scientists see it as an opportunity to study how the Moon's surface responds to the impact of a large object travelling at extremely high speed.

The observations are expected to provide fresh insights into the lunar surface.

The dispute between Meta and the government appears to be easing after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg sent an apology over deepfake content and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on the company's platforms. According to sources, Zuckerberg apologised for lapses related to CSAM deepfakes and the platform's operations. Sources also claimed that Meta acknowledged spending significant sums to boost certain types of content.

Government's Stand

Government sources said Meta was told it cannot be treated merely as an "intermediary" because the company determines which content reaches users. The government maintained that, in such circumstances, the "safe harbour" protection available under the IT Act would not apply to Meta.

According to government sources, Meta admitted shortcomings in its handling of the matter, expressed regret and issued an apology.

Compliance, Content Concerns

The government also told Meta that it must comply with Indian law in all circumstances and raised concerns over the alleged misuse of social media platforms.

Unlike conventional true wireless stereo earbuds that sit inside the ear canal, the CMF Clip Pro uses an open-ear design aimed at offering a more comfortable listening experience.

The launch comes as clip-on earbuds gain traction in the personal audio market, with major brands including Sony and Bose also experimenting with similar form factors. CMF is positioning the Clip Pro as a comparatively affordable entry into the category, although buyers in India will not get access to the new earbuds.

CMF Clip Pro Uses Three-Point Clip Design

The CMF Clip Pro is designed to attach around the ear, with one section resting behind it while the speaker sits outside the ear canal. CMF calls this its 3-point Clip Design, which is intended to distribute pressure across the ear and improve comfort during longer listening sessions.

The Pixel 11 Pro is tipped to bring some significant hardware changes, including Google's new Tensor G6 processor, a MediaTek 5G modem, an upgraded camera system and a brighter OLED display. Android 17, deeper Gemini integration and seven years of software support are also expected.

Here is everything you need to know about the Google Pixel 11 Pro ahead of its official launch. It should be noted that everything mentioned in terms of price and specifications of the upcoming phone are purely based on leaks and rumours. Google has yet to confirm any details beyond the release date and certain teaser images. All details will officially be revealed on August 12.

Google has confirmed that its Made by Google event will take place on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in New York City. The event begins at 6 pm ET, or 3 pm PT. For Indian viewers, that simply means early morning at 3:30 am IST on August 13.

The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel Watch 5.

Leaks suggest Pixel 11 Pro pre-orders could begin immediately after the launch event on August 12. According to information attributed to leaker billbil-kun via Dealabs, retail sales could begin on August 20.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is expected to arrive separately at a later date.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Price In India

Google has not announced the Pixel 11 Pro price in India yet. However, a reported accidental Amazon listing has indicated possible US prices for all three storage configurations.

The Pixel 11 Pro 256GB model is tipped to cost $1,099, while the 512GB version could be priced at $1,219. The top-end 1TB model could cost $1,449.

At an approximate exchange rate of Rs 87.5 per US dollar, these prices convert to roughly Rs 96,200, Rs 1,06,700 and Rs 1,26,800, respectively.

These are direct currency conversions and should not be considered expected Indian retail prices. Google's final pricing in India could differ significantly because of taxes, import costs and its regional pricing strategy.

The disappearance of the 128GB variant also means the Pixel 11 Pro could effectively have a higher entry price than its predecessor.

Google VP of Devices and Services Shakil Barkat has reportedly linked rising device costs to higher memory prices, saying Google “shielded our consumers from supply fluctuations for as long as possible” but that “the economics have fundamentally shifted.”

Google Pixel 11 Pro Specifications

The Pixel 11 Pro is tipped to feature a 6.3-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2,856 x 1,280 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.

Peak brightness could reach 3,600 nits, while full-screen HDR brightness is reportedly rated at 2,450 nits. The display is also expected to offer 240Hz PWM dimming and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

At the heart of the phone could be Google's Tensor G6, manufactured using TSMC's 2nm process. Leaks point to a seven-core CPU configuration paired with PowerVR graphics and Google's Titan M3 security coprocessor.

The 256GB version is expected to ship with 12GB RAM, while the 512GB and 1TB models could offer 16GB RAM. If accurate, this would mean the entry-level Pixel 11 Pro gets less RAM than the Pixel 10 Pro.

Leaks indicate a triple-camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary camera featuring a new sensor reportedly codenamed "bastet". This could be accompanied by a 48-megapixel Sony IMX858 ultrawide camera with macro support.

The third camera is tipped to be a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor, reportedly codenamed "barghest", supporting 5x optical zoom and digital zoom of up to 120x.

Google could offer optical-quality zoom steps at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x and 10x.

Reports currently disagree about the front camera. An accidental Amazon listing reportedly points towards a 13-megapixel selfie camera, while another leaked specification sheet mentions a 42-megapixel unit. The 13-megapixel configuration currently has support from multiple reports, but the final specification will only be known at launch.

Google Pixel 11 Pro AI Camera Features

Google is also expected to lean heavily on AI-powered photography and video features.

The Pixel 11 Pro could introduce Night Sight Video processing directly on the device for improved recording in low-light conditions. A Cinematic Rendering Engine built into the Tensor G6 image processor is reportedly designed to improve cinematic video while reducing power consumption.

Other reported features include 4K 30fps Cinematic Blur, AI-powered video relighting, simultaneous photo and video capture and an upgraded Camera Coach.

A feature reportedly called "Speak-to-Tweak" could allow users to make photo edits using voice commands.

The camera could also offer a dedicated 120x "moon shot" mode.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Battery And Charging

The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to pack a battery with a typical capacity of around 4,850mAh, with a reported minimum capacity of 4,707mAh.

That would represent a marginal reduction from the Pixel 10 Pro's 4,870mAh battery.

Wired charging is expected to remain at 30W using USB-C PPS, while Qi2 wireless charging could support speeds of up to 15W. Reports suggesting 45W charging appear to relate to the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL rather than the standard Pro model.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Design

Google is unlikely to dramatically reinvent the Pixel design with this generation. Instead, the Pixel 11 Pro is expected to refine the visual language established by its predecessor.

The smartphone could measure approximately 152.7 x 71.9 x 8.4mm and weigh around 204 grams. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and IP68 dust and water resistance are also expected.

One of the more interesting reported additions is an RGB LED system integrated into the camera bar. The feature has been referred to as "Pixel Glow", while Google may reportedly market it under the "HiLight" name.

The lighting system could function as both a notification indicator and a visual cue for Gemini interactions. It is expected to occupy the space previously used for the temperature sensor.

Leaks point towards four Pixel 11 Pro colour options: Dune, Light Fog, Midnight Haze and Pine.

Dune is described as a coral-copper pink finish paired with a champagne-toned frame, while Light Fog could offer an almost white appearance with a silver frame.

Midnight Haze is expected to provide a matte-black finish and could be the only colour available with 1TB storage. Pine, meanwhile, is tipped to combine a muted green rear panel with a polished gold frame.

Google has not officially confirmed any of these colour names.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Software And Gemini AI

The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to ship with Android 17 out of the box and receive seven years of operating system and security updates.

Gemini AI is likely to play an even bigger role across the device, with deeper integration into photography, editing and everyday smartphone functions expected.

Reports also suggest the Pixel 11 series will not introduce the rumoured Project Toscana infrared face-unlock system.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Connectivity

One of the biggest upgrades may not be immediately visible.

Google is reportedly replacing the Samsung Exynos modem used in previous Pixels with the MediaTek M90. FCC filings are said to indicate MediaTek modem hardware across the Pixel 11 family.

The M90 supports 5G speeds of up to 12Gbps, dual-active 5G SIM functionality and satellite connectivity. Improved power efficiency could also help Google address connectivity and battery-consumption complaints associated with previous Pixel generations.

Other expected connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and USB-C. The Pro model is also expected to support UWB and Thread.

Google Pixel 11 Pro: What To Expect

The Pixel 11 Pro appears set to be an evolutionary flagship rather than a complete redesign. Its biggest upgrades could come from the Tensor G6's 2nm architecture, the switch to a MediaTek modem, improved telephoto capabilities and Google's expanding suite of Gemini-powered features.

There could be compromises, however. The base model is tipped to drop from 16GB to 12GB RAM, while battery capacity could decline marginally. With the 128GB option reportedly being discontinued, buyers may also face a higher minimum entry price.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology has given Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg a three-day deadline to apologise over the temporary removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's July 23 video from Facebook.

The committee, chaired by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, described the removal of the Prime Minister's video as an "attack on democracy", arguing that it targeted the elected representative of 1.4 billion Indians.

The controversy relates to the brief removal of a video posted by Prime Minister Modi on Instagram and later shared on Facebook before it was restored by Meta.

Panel Warns Meta Over Safe Harbour Protection

Addressing reporters, Dubey said the committee had written to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Home Affairs, arguing that the removal of the Prime Minister's video was the responsibility of a publisher rather than an intermediary.

"We wrote to the Ministry of IT and the Ministry of Home Affairs stating that deleting the Prime Minister's video was not the responsibility of an intermediary but that of a publisher. Therefore, Mark Zuckerberg must apologise within three days," Dubey said.

He further warned that if the apology was not forthcoming, the committee would seek the withdrawal of the "safe harbour" protection currently available to social media platforms, alleging that the legal protection was being misused. Dubey also said widespread legal action could follow if people affected by objectionable content on Meta's platforms began filing police complaints.

Meta Says Video Was Removed Due to Technical Glitch

The video, recorded in a selfie-style format, was Prime Minister Modi's first direct address using that format. In it, he promised stringent action against paper leaks amid student protests led by the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).

Meta briefly restricted the Facebook version of the video before restoring it after criticism from BJP leaders and social media users.

Earlier this week, the parliamentary panel questioned Meta officials over the incident. The company apologised and attributed the removal to a "technical glitch". However, MeitY rejected the explanation as "not reasonable", saying that if the incident resulted from a technical error, Meta should strengthen its systems to prevent similar lapses.

There's also Wet Touch 2.0, an in-display fingerprint sensor and TÜV eye-protection features.

See, allow me to be honest. None of those will change your life. But collectively, they make the display package feel suitably modern and surprisingly ample within the sub-25k price point.

Snapdragon Enters The Chat

Shayak: The words "Snapdragon" and "4nm" do not automatically transform a phone into a gaming monster. Poco is using Qualcomm's 4th Gen Snapdragon 4 Mobile Platform here, paired with either 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

That should be perfectly adequate for WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, navigation, multitasking, and casual gaming.

But look at the rest of the hardware. LPDDR4X. UFS 2.2. Snapdragon 4-series.

This is clearly built around efficiency and everyday performance rather than chasing benchmark trophies. If you're buying it expecting a pocket-sized PlayStation because Poco once said something about gaming on stage, GennieGPT has probably written your shopping list.

50 Megapixels Of AI, Obviously

Shayak: The main camera is a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and five-element lens. That's a sensible setup, although megapixel count alone tells us very little about actual image quality. Image processing, HDR, low-light performance and shutter response will matter considerably more than that giant "50MP" printed on the box. The front is considerably less ambitious: an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Translation? Poco clearly knows which camera it wants you talking about.

Six Years? Now You Have My Attention

✨ GennieGPT: HyperOS 3! Android 16! FOUR Android upgrades! SIX YEARS of security updates! The future has arrived!

Shayak: You're contractually required to announce the future at least once per review, aren't you? Still, this deserves praise.

Poco says the M8 Power ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and gets up to four years of Android updates and six years of security updates. That matters particularly on a phone with an enormous battery. There's little point building hardware capable of lasting years if the software gets abandoned halfway through its useful life.

Six years of security support makes the M8 Power's longevity argument considerably stronger.

Genuinely speaking, this software claim worth getting excited about. I hope Poco doesn't make my eat my words.

Poco M8 Power Review: Final Verdict

The Poco M8 Power isn't pretending to be delicate. There's a huge battery underneath, plenty of presence, and absolutely no chance you'll forget you're carrying it. But the interesting part is that Poco hasn't simply bolted an enormous battery onto a mediocre phone. The 120Hz AMOLED display looks promising, software support is unusually long, 45W charging is sensible, and 22.5W reverse charging gives that 8,000mAh battery another practical purpose.

The Snapdragon 4-series platform and older UFS 2.2 storage, however, reveal where the compromises have been made.

And then there's the price. The 6GB+128GB version carries a sticker price of Rs 24,999, while the 8GB+128GB model costs Rs 27,999. At launch, those effectively fall to Rs 21,999 and Rs 24,999 respectively through the introductory coupon and bank discount/exchange bonus. At those launch prices, the M8 Power makes considerably more sense.

Should You Buy Poco M8 Power?

Yes, if battery life is your number-one priority and you want a large AMOLED display without constantly carrying a power bank.
Maybe, if you want a balanced everyday phone and can get it at the introductory price.
No, if high-end gaming performance, lightweight phones or cutting-edge memory and storage are high on your wishlist.

WhatsApp Account Locked? Meta Reviews Multiple Accounts, Restricts Access For 24 Hours

WhatsApp on Monday locked multiple accounts, including those belonging to users in India, as it placed them under review for up to 24 hours, temporarily blocking access to all features of the messaging platform.

The sudden disruption left several users unable to use the Meta-owned app, prompting many to turn to social media to report the issue and seek assistance.

Responding to the reports, a WhatsApp spokesperson said the company routinely takes action to prevent abuse of its platform but acknowledged that mistakes can occur during the process.

WhatsApp Says Reviews Aim to Prevent Misuse

We are always working to stay ahead of those trying to abuse our service and ban accounts to help keep other users safe," the WhatsApp spokesperson told PTI.

The spokesperson added that the company sometimes makes errors while enforcing its policies.

"Sometimes we get this wrong and if we do, we try to fix it as quickly as possible to get people back to chatting," the spokesperson said.

Users Encounter 'Account in Review' Message

The issue began surfacing around 8 pm IST, when users reported losing access to WhatsApp without receiving any prior warning.

Affected users saw a message on the app stating: "Account in review. Date requested: 3 Aug 2026. Your account activity and device info is being checked to make sure it follows our terms of service. We will notify you of the result typically within 24 hours."

The notification also included options to learn more about account-related issues, including guidance on using WhatsApp responsibly and information about stolen phones and compromised accounts.

Affected Users Voice Frustration Online

Several users shared their experiences on social media after discovering that their accounts had been restricted.

One user wrote: "My WhatsApp account has been disabled without any explanation. I have already submitted an appeal, but the review page only displays a generic message stating that it will 'typically be reviewed within 24 hours.' Help me urgently."

Another user, posting from an X account named Saloni, said: "My WhatsApp account was suddenly disabled without any warning. I only use the official app, and my work depends on WhatsApp. Please help. This was so unnecessary."

Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: As a tech reviewer, my primary responsibility is to test out devices and then explain to you, our dear readers, how suitable it would be to sort out the many woes of your daily life. However, once in a blue Moon, I do come across gadgets that are designed for a super-niche-yet-sizeable sect of customers.

The Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G (priced at Rs 5,980) is a smartwatch that promotes itself as a care companion for children. And that makes sense. After all, unofficial data suggests that there are nearly 4.5 million below-teenage smartwatch users in India. These smartwatches not only allow parents to keep a track of their children's whereabouts, but also allow the kids to get in touch with parents via video calls and SOS alerts when things go awry.

Now, my mind is weathered with time, devoid of all those child-like wonderments that only a 10-year-old can feel. So, to do full justice, I decided to give this one to a colleague's tech-savvy 10-year-old daughter, Kavya Sharma (pictured below).

Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: What I Love

Calls and Catching Up

The voice call feature on this watch is amazing! Whenever I finish my dance class or want to ask my dad to pick up snacks on his way home, I just tap his picture and call.

The speaker and microphone are super clear, so we can hear each other perfectly without a hitch.

Live Location & SOS Safety

My mom’s favourite feature is definitely the live location tracking. It works extremely well! Whether I’m at school, at my best friend’s house, or at tuition, my parents can check their phone app and see exactly where I am.

For me, the coolest and most comforting part is the SOS button. If I ever feel unsafe or get lost in a crowd, holding down the side button sends an instant emergency call and location alert to my parents. It gives me a huge sense of security!

Fun Games & Water Park Durability

When I’m waiting for the school bus or sitting around during break time, the built-in mini games are super fun to play. They keep me entertained without being too distracting.

Also, we went to a water park last weekend, and I was nervous about taking my watch into the pool. But guess what? The water resistance worked like a charm! I splashed around, went down the water slides, and the watch didn't get damaged at all.

Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: What Could Be Better

Camera Quality

Even though the watch supports video calling, the camera quality is honestly very poor. Photos and video calls look pretty blurry and pixelated, especially if the lighting isn't super bright. My face ends up looking like a retro pixel video game character!

I really hope they upgrade the camera in the next version.

4G Network Reception

The watch runs on 4G, which is great for staying connected. However, the network signal drops quite easily when I’m inside big concrete buildings or basement areas.

The company definitely needs to work on network enhancements so the signal stays strong everywhere.

Step Counter Accuracy

I love checking the pedometer to see how many steps I’ve walked during recess. The step tracker works well overall, but the accuracy isn't quite as expected.

Sometimes when I’m just waving my arms around while talking or playing board games, it counts those movements as actual steps! It’s funny, but not totally accurate.

Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: Final Verdict

Overall, I give the Sekyo Turbo Smartwatch a 4 out of 5 stars! Even with the blurry camera and shaky step count, it's a super cool gadget for kids my age.

It gives me the freedom to call my family, play games, and swim without worrying, while my parents stay happy knowing I'm safe. If you're 10 like me, you'll definitely enjoy having one on your wrist!
