We got a glimpse of two vanilla iPhone 15 models — iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Apple also launched its top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.
For starters, all four iPhone 15 models will sport USB-C, adhering to new European regulations and ditching Apple's traditional lightning port. Additionally, the iPhone 15 series saw the elimination of the front display notch entirely, as the vanilla models will come with the Display Island as well. The iPhones also commonly feature 48-megapixel primary snappers.
Powered by A16 Bionic, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are priced starting at $799 and $899, respectively.

Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 were unveiled alongside. Both the wearables come with a haptic "Double Tap" feature, which can detect the actions of users when they tap their thumb and forefinger together. This can be used to receive/disconnect phone calls, turn on connected devices, or even control music playback.
The Series 9 is powered by the S9 silicon, making the wearables notably faster and more intuitive to use.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2, as expected, comes with upgraded health and fitness features, up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, and offers up to 36 hours of battery life.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 price starts at $799, while Apple Watch Series 9 price starts at $399.

iPhone 15 Pro models will sport USB-C charging ports, just like its vanilla iPhone 15 siblings.
The top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro Max comes with a 3x telephoto camera, which offers 5x optical zoom and an impressive 120mm focal length. It will come with 100% focus pixels for better autofocus, and an f/2.8 aperture.

It appears that the USB-C ports are not going to be the only new design addition to the upcoming iPhone 15 series. As per the latest reports and leaks, all iPhone 15 models are expected to drop the display notch that houses the Face ID and selfie camera — even on the non-Pro handsets.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that we should not expect any new iPad models to be unveiled before the year's end, as reported by MacRumors. Kuo did not offer any additional details regarding Apple's forthcoming tablets. While there have been ongoing rumours about the next-generation iPad Pro models launching in 2024 instead of this year, there have been conflicting reports concerning potential updates to the iPad mini and iPad Air.
Apple has recently rolled out a security software update aimed at older iterations of its iPhone, iPad, Mac, and various other Apple devices, with a primary focus on delivering "vital security enhancements."
This update comes on the heels of a significant security patch released for more recent Apple devices in iOS 16.6.1 just last week, as reported by CNET. This update addresses crucial security vulnerabilities, including "two issues that may be actively targeted."
The security update from Apple, bearing the version number iOS 15.7.9, extends support to the following devices:
- iPhone 6S (all models)
- iPhone 7 (all models)
- iPhone SE (first generation)
- iPad Air 2
- iPad mini (fourth generation)
- iPod Touch (seventh generation)
Additionally, there are analogous software updates available for Mac computers operating on older operating systems. For devices running macOS Monterey, there is a new update designated as macOS 12.6.9, while macOS Big Sur users can access macOS 11.7.10 for their devices.
Apple's "Wonderlust" event will begin at 10:30pm IST. With only four hours to go, here's a quick lowdown of what to expect at tonight's event.
Instead of the side toggle button seen on all previous iterations of iPhone, the new iPhone 15 series may come with an action button, which can be used to carry out any user-desired function. Smartphone case maker Spigen tweeted a teaser photo.
Of course, this information should be considered with a pinch of salt as Apple is yet to confirm anything on the new iPhone 15 series.
As seen every year, Apple's online store almost always goes down prior to any of its launch events. This time around as well, the online store is down, with a "Be Right Back" message on the screen.
The reason behind this now-routine outage is quite simple. It means that Apple is updating its online catalogues with its new gadgets in the background, to ensure smooth access upon launch.
iPhone launches always send a wave of fervour among tech heads across the globe and each year without fail, some users come up with some of the most hilarious memes and trolls in the buildup to the event. Here are some that would surely leave you in splits:
Apple's "Wonderlust" event will begin at 10:30pm IST. With only five hours to go, here's a quick lowdown of what to expect at tonight's event.
Apple's upcoming "Wonderlust" event will be broadcast in real-time directly from Apple Park in Cupertino, California, USA. To ensure widespread accessibility for Apple enthusiasts, there are multiple ways to tune in to the event:
- Official Apple Events page: You can watch the event through the official Apple Events webpage. Apple consistently delivers high-quality livestreams via this platform, accommodating a global audience.
- Apple's YouTube channel: Another option is to catch the live stream on Apple's official YouTube channel. This makes it convenient for a diverse range of viewers to tune in.
- Apple TV app: For a more immersive viewing experience, you can choose to access the event through the Apple TV app. This app is available on macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS, ensuring that you can watch the event on your preferred device.
Several leaks have cropped up over the past few weeks over the possible colour options the new iPhone 15 lineup will come in. It is largely expected that this time around, the new iPhones will come in Blue, Yellow, White, Black and Pink or Red colourways. An Apple Insider report suggests that these colourways could have a muted, pastel appearance. This will come in strict contrast with nearly all previous iterations of the iPhone (except the C lineup), which mostly had a metallic design.
According to a recent report by Bloomberg, citing insider sources, Apple is set to offer Made-in-India iPhone 15 models for sale on the very day of their launch. This development signifies a significant leap for India's manufacturing initiative and will bring delight to Indian iPhone enthusiasts. Unlike in previous years, where iPhone buyers in India often had to endure extended waiting periods to acquire the latest models, this time, they can expect immediate availability.
The report claimed that Apple plans to make the homegrown iPhone 15 handsets available in India as well as "some other regions on global sales debut day."
While Apple still relies heavily on Chinese manufacturing for a substantial portion of its iPhone production, this marks a groundbreaking moment as it represents the first instance of Made-in-India iPhones being available on the launch day. In contrast, last year, Apple commenced the production of iPhone 14 series smartphones several weeks after their initial launch.
According to reports from various media sources and reliable insiders, it appears that Apple is gearing up to release two mid-range iPhones, one featuring a 6.1-inch screen and another with a 6.7-inch display. Additionally, there are indications of two "Pro" models in the pipeline, boasting titanium casings and advanced camera capabilities.
The most noteworthy change expected this year is the transition from the proprietary Lightning port, which has been in use since 2012, to a USB-C charging port. This shift brings Apple's iPhones in line with the industry-standard USB-C port found on a wide range of devices, including Android phones, modern laptops, iPads, and others. It's worth noting that this transition is partly driven by new European regulations mandating a universal charging port. While Apple may not explicitly mention this regulatory aspect, they are likely to emphasise the user-friendly benefits of the change, such as enhanced convenience and faster charging. There's even speculation that Apple might brand this port uniquely.
As mentioned earlier, the Pro models may feature titanium casings, which offer a lighter alternative to the stainless steel used in recent iterations. Some clues from event invitations hint at an Apple logo with a titanium-like finish.
It appears that X (née Twitter) has finally made the special Apple like reaction live now. If you like any tweet with #AppleEvent, it will show a smart animation to mark the launch event.
In India, the world's second-largest smartphone market, Apple comes third in terms of value share, behind Oppo (excluding OnePlus) and Samsung which manufacture flagship Android phones. While the India numbers do not paint a rosy picture, the iPhone maker has increased both its market share and value share in the country in the past few quarters.
From a 1 per cent share in 2018 to a 4 per cent market share, and a 5 per cent value share to an 18 per cent value share, Apple has been on an upward trajectory.
The features and prices of iPhones have increased over the years, but people are still buying more iPhones. Apple iPhones offer a differentiation factor for both the aspirational youth and the elite. Deep e-commerce penetration and easy financing are seemingly among the key reasons why Indians are falling deeper in love with iPhones, with easy financing options being adopted by other top smartphone brands like Samsung and OnePlus.

The upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are anticipated to maintain their previous pricing, coming in at $799 and $899, respectively. Conversely, a report from 9to5Mac hints at a potential $100 price hike for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. If Apple maintains the current pricing for the standard models, the new iPhones may commence at ₹79,900 in the Indian market. This means the iPhone 15 might start at ₹79,900, while the iPhone 15 Plus range could have a starting price of ₹89,900 in India, remaining in line with the previous year's pricing structure.
This year, the made-in-India iPhone 15 models are expected to make their debut in the country sometime this month. This move signifies a reduction in the time lag between the Indian launch and the global release, compared to the previous year when the iPhone 14 models became available in the country about a month after their assembly began at the Chennai facility, approximately 10 days following the global unveiling. The iPhone 15 line for this year aims to close the gap with the global launch, possibly even achieving a simultaneous release.
Preparations for the production of the upcoming iPhone 15 line are currently in progress. Some reports indicate that trial production of the iPhone 15 started in China in June, taking place at Foxconn's largest manufacturing facility in Zhengzhou. Simultaneously, components required for the assembly of the iPhone 15 began arriving at Foxconn's manufacturing units in India around the same period. In addition to Foxconn, Apple's other contract manufacturing partners in India, namely Wistron and Pegatron, are also reportedly gearing up to commence assembly of the forthcoming iPhone models in the near future.
It appears that #AppleEvent is the official hashtag on X (née Twitter) and it's sure to top the trending charts soon enough.
However, this has also led to some accounts baiting users for some quick likes on their posts.
Every year, X marks Apple launch events with a special 'like' animation. Some users have started posting on the platform, asking others, "Is the #AppleEvent animation working for you too". It should be noted that the official animation is not yet live, but that doesn't mean these accounts would try to round up some likes before the official event kicks off.
All this is done in good fun of course. Hardly qualifies as a 'scam'. However, it's always advised to stay aware when you're online.
As per classic Apple tradition, the company has remained tight-lipped about what to expect from tonight's event. However, it's safe to speculate that staying true to yet another Apple tradition, CEO Tim Cook will be kicking off tonight's event with his keynote address.
Cook will then hand over the baton to his fellow Apple colleagues to guide viewers through all the latest launches and features. The Apple chief will appear once again at the very end to wrap up the launch event — at least this has been the tradition to date and there's no reason to say otherwise yet.
Apple will begin its much-awaited "Wonderlust" hardware launch event at 10am PT, or 10:30pm IST.
Be sure to tune into ABP Live. We're here with all the latest updates!
Apple's "Wonderlust" event will be presented in real-time from Apple Park, located in Cupertino, California, US. Apple enthusiasts will have multiple avenues to access the event, ensuring widespread accessibility.
- Official Apple Events page: The event can be observed through the official Apple Events webpage, where Apple consistently provides a high-quality livestream, catering to a global audience.
- Apple's YouTube channel: Additionally, Apple streams its events live on its official YouTube channel, making it convenient for a diverse audience to join in.
- Apple TV app: For a more immersive viewing experience, you have the option to access the event via the Apple TV app, accessible on macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS, guaranteeing that you can watch the event on your preferred device.
Apple is expected to unveil the enhanced Apple Watch Ultra and the Apple Watch Series 9 tonight as well. These releases will coincide with the highly anticipated iPhone 15 series launch. As per Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the Apple Watch Series 9 is expected to receive a substantial improvement compared to the previous Apple Watch Series 8, particularly in terms of its updated optical heart rate sensor. It is worth noting that the Apple Watch Ultra is likely to be introduced in a single size, while the Watch Series 9 may be available in two different sizes.
Staying true to its 4-phone tradition, practised since the iPhone 12 series launch in 2020, Apple is expected to unveil four new iPhones today. If the rumour mill is to be believed, we might get to see the launch of iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max tonight.
