Heavy Rains Lash Delhi As IMD Warns Of More Showers Tomorrow — Watch Video
Delhi experienced heavy rainfall, providing relief from the intense heatwave that had affected the city in recent days.
Amid scorching heat for the past several days, Delhi witnessed heavy rain in several areas on Saturday evening, giving relief to residents of the capital. In a video posted by news agency ANI, heavy rains can be witnessed in Connaught Place. Showers also lashed regions surrounding Rail Bhawan.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Deparment (IMD) has forecast to be 'partly cloudy' and it will become 'generally cloudy' towards the evening. Very light rain or drizzle is likely, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and dust storms, with winds with speeds of 40-50 kilometre per hour gusting up to 60 kilometre per hour during the evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday are expected to be around 38 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The air quality at 4 pm on Friday was in the 'poor' category, with an Air (AQI) reading of 219. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe', according to the Central Pollution Control Board.
On Thursday, several parts of north India witnessed heavy rain and thunderstorms with Himachal Pradesh reporting one death caused by a falling tree.
In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstorms lashed several parts of the state, uprooting trees and disrupting power supply in many areas, including Shimla.An eight-year-old boy, identified as Abhishek Kumar, died after a tree fell on a hut in Hamirpur's Barsar.While Gondla in Lahaul-Spiti received 1 cm of snow since Wednesday evening, Seobagh in Kullu district recorded the highest rainfall at 28.8 mm, followed by Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti at 23.8 mm and Narkanda in SHimla district at 18 mm, the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) regional office in Shimla said.Hailstorms were witnessed in several parts of the state, causing damage to crops such as apple and other fruits which were in the flowering stage.
