New Delhi: Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohil, on Tuesday, unfurled Indian flag on the auspicious occasion of India’s 71st Independence Day in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Head coach Ravi Shastri and other members of the squad wrere present as skipper Virat Kohli hoisted the tri-colour and it was followed by the national anthem.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) took to Twitter to post the video and wrote, “#TeamIndia gathered at Kandy to hoist the tricolour on the occasion of Independence Day #IndependenceDayIndia”

On Monday, India completed historic first ever overseas whitewash as they defeated the hosts in the third Test match by an innings and 171 runs.

India will now play Sri Lanka in the limited format with 5 ODI’s and one-off T20 scheduled to take place from August 20.
